In this video, we'll demonstrate one of the most popular effects – applying decorative Silk plaster using the World Map technique.
We use a primer-paint as a base coat, which acts as an adhesion layer. We tint the primer to match the final product color, then apply it to the surface using a fine-nap roller. Let it dry completely, about 2 hours. The next step is applying the decorative plaster. We use a matte Silk, tinted in advance to the selected color from the catalog. We apply the first layer with a Venetian trowel, using random strokes. The purpose of the first layer when applying decorative plaster is to cover the base and create a base layer – a design on the wall. Let it dry (approximately 4-5 hours). For the second layer, which will create the main design, we use a sea sponge. Dip the sponge into the material and transfer it to the surface using gentle dabbing motions. The goal is to apply the material evenly, without gaps. Without waiting for the decorative plaster to dry, smooth the material with a Venetian trowel, removing any excess from the surface.
