1 - For organizing references, many researchers use softwares like Zotero or Mendeley, I personally prefer not to use them. You might wanna give it a go if you want to get deep into research related things,
2 - Google terms like Impact factor, h index, Q1 journals to know more about author data and workings of a Journal.
3 - Some journals offer faster publication or review process in exchange for a fee, before giving the fee, look into if the journal is a genuine one or not.
4 - Statisticians charge fees, so it's better to go through a contact reference.
