RIDE FOR BELAC
This Saturdays #SpinKingsKe #BeginnersRide was cancelled so as to mourn - together with cyclists from across the nation - the untimely and tragic death of Caleb Omwoyo aka Belac. Belac was cycling home as he's used to everyday after exercising for the ITT. Unfortunately, due to the carelessness of some Matatu crew plying the Thika Road Route, he lost his tender life.
Today we ride for Belac, and for every other cyclist who has lost his life on our roads. We ride for all cyclists who are forced to endanger their lives daily by competing for space with unruly and careless motorists who have no regard for other road users.
Our hope is that the Government will hear our cry and redesign our roads to include functional pedestrian walkways and cycling lanes.
