Vice-Chancellor Science Day 2024
"We are united despite our challenges.” This powerful line from the MM Sebitloane Special School anthem resonated on 30 July during the NWU Vice-Chancellor Science Day in Taung. Over a thousand secondary school learners from the Taung district gathered to explore their future in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
The event, a collaboration between the vice-chancellor's office and the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, aims to inspire youth, raise STEM awareness, and demystify misconceptions about innovation. Prof Bismark Tyobeka emphasised the transformative power of STEM education, encouraging learners to embrace opportunities that can change their lives and the future of their region.
