Gigafactory Texas on 20 September 2023! This is where Model Y’s and Cyber Truck production happens!
Having some fun today and I decided to wear my Air Force Academy A-Jacket today, partly trolling Elon a little since he seems to like wearing his, and also, to mark the 35th Anniversary Reunion of my class coming up in a few weeks.
In the video introduction, I talk about the Pneumatic Blenders at the battery cathode plant, how they work and why they are being installed.

A few other highlights from today's drone flight include:
Work on the new end-of-line (EOL) facility steel structure continues just west of the central highway, and another large slab of concrete has been poured. Looks like just one more large slab section remains to be completed so the entire length of the building will be realized. We also see continued work to make the graded area for the new outbound lot larger and we see crews working on storm water pipe installation along the length of the new road running north to south.
The south end of the main building shows more CFA pile drilling underway, again moved slightly farther to the west side, so it appears they are getting close to wrapping up these piles and this may be a good sign that the next phase of construction (namely footing) may be getting much closer to starting. On the southeast corner of stamping, we see more windows have been removed.
Farther south, the River Road extension has been paved, so both the east and west bound lanes are now completed, and join up to the concrete intersection. Most of the concrete curbs along the median of the road have also been completed.
The east construction site for the multi-level garage has had more grade work in several sections, while on the north end, concrete pipe sections are being temporarily store3d as a three-pipe drainage system is being constructed in a large trench nearby. Gravel has already been poured on top of most of the three-sections of pipe in this area. Also, a bit of history for Giga Texas, we see the old smokestack from the demolished bag plant (where the electrical switchyard is now) has been dug up and is waiting for final demolition. This smokestack was temporarily used as a water tunnel under a roadway.
At the battery cathode plant, we see the crane is being positioned with a large load spreader to lift the pneumatic blender units up and into the second floor of the south end of the main plant. This may be completed later today. The pneumatic blenders themselves appear to have had all the top platform pieces installed and are ready for the lift.
At the crash testing facility, we see paving work on the south end, the crash wall inside has been temporarily removed and pushed farther inside, and we see a Cybertruck loaded up on the large rotisserie at the north end. I think another of the Cybertrucks has been rolled inside the crash testing facility itself, as only one now remains parked with car cover on the east side.
One final observation from today. I noticed more employee cars are in the parking lots, although production continues to be paused during the internal upgrades, production capacity expansion and reconfiguration of the assembly lines. This may indicate employees might be starting training on the new equipment or may be assisting in the testing and calibration process of the new equipment.
