Welcome back to episode 40 of the Asylum development diary!

In today’s video, I share my development roadmap leading up to the game's release and outline my plans for preparing a vertical slice for the upcoming Steam Next Fest.

The main focus of this devlog is UI design: we are building a fully functional, dynamic Quest Widget from scratch in Unreal Engine 5.6! Inside this episode:
🔹 Creating a dynamic quest list using custom child button widgets (WBP_Button).
🔹 Setting up seamless, custom navigation for both keyboard and gamepad (no mouse required!).
🔹 Linking our Blueprint-based UI with the core C++ Quest System (using a GameInstanceSubsystem wrapper).
🔹 Utilizing Data Tables to pull quest names, descriptions, and objectives directly into the interface.

Thank you for your continuous support! The Steam page for Asylum is officially live. Please consider adding it to your wishlist, it helps the project immensely! 👇
