How A Silent Voice Creates Realistic Characters
A Silent Voice is a Japanese Anime about the relationship between a deaf girl ( Nishimiya ) and her elementary school bully ( Ishida ) who attempts to reconcile with her and make up for what he has done. The film was made by the slightly lesser known Kyoto Animation and Directed by Naoko Yamada who in my opinion does a great job at creating realistic and relatable characters.
this film does include some heavier themes which I tried to navigate carefully in my analysis, but please don't be afraid to turn the video off if you don't feel like you can watch it. Apologies for going a bit deep and serious on this video essay, hopefully it didn't come across the wrong way but regardless this is a great movie and you should go watch it :).
