Coconut Oil Makeup Remover
I’m always looking for beauty tips and products that actually work. There are so many brands for so many uses that I find myself overwhelmed. In my world simpler is better, if I can use a product multiple ways I’m happy. Let me introduce you to coconut oil. Not that an introduction is needed but many people are unaware that coconut oil has uses outside of the kitchen. In beachy towns of Colombia, vendors actually sell tiny bottles of liquid coconut oil for tourists looking to get a golden tan. Coconut is a natural moisturizer, deep cleanser and protects skin from bacteria that cause acne. I buy a large jar of pressed organic coconut oil for $10 and use it for just about everything. It’s solid and smooth and lives on my vanity most of the time. Coconut oil isn’t liquid unless you heat it so it’s safe at room temperature. Before bed time, I wipe down my face with a coconut oil coated cotton pad. It usually takes about 3 minutes and a couple of pads before my face is completely make-up free. Then I wash my face to remove the excess oil, but you can leave it on overnight if you have dry skin. It doesn’t irritate my eyes and even removes waterproof mascara in one wipe.
