Welcome back to my channel! 🙏 In this video, I'm taking you on a complete 2-day Coorg travel vlog — one of the most beautiful hill stations in Karnataka, India! If you've been planning a Coorg trip and don't know where to start, this video is your ultimate guide. I'm covering everything — the tourist spots, the hidden gems, what went wrong, unexpected detours, and the most authentic experiences Coorg has to offer. So sit back, relax, and let's explore Coorg together! ☕🌧️🐘
🗓️ DAY 1 — Dubare Elephant Camp, Namdroling Monastery, Coffee Plantation, Abbey Falls & Raja's Seat
Our first stop was the iconic Dubare Elephant Camp — one of the most popular things to do in Coorg. But here's the thing nobody tells you: it gets extremely crowded, especially on weekends and peak season! We reached there and the crowd was just too overwhelming to enjoy the experience, so we made a quick change in plans — and honestly? Best decision ever. 😄
We pivoted and headed to the Namdroling Monastery (Nyingmapa Monastery) in Bylakuppe, also known as the Golden Temple — and wow, this place is absolutely stunning. The golden architecture, the giant Buddha statues, the peaceful monks, the prayer flags fluttering in the breeze — it felt like we had teleported straight to Tibet. This is seriously one of the most underrated places near Coorg that most tourists skip. If you're looking for Coorg hidden gems and offbeat Coorg attractions, this is 100% on your must-visit list. The spiritual energy here is unlike anything else, and it's completely free to visit!
After that soul-refreshing detour, we headed to a Coffee Plantation in Coorg — and this was genuinely one of the highlights of the entire trip. The plantation owners gave us a proper guided tour of the estate, explaining the entire process from how coffee is grown to how it's processed and roasted. Did you know Coorg (Kodagu) produces some of the finest coffee in India? The region is responsible for a huge portion of India's total coffee output and the estates here are absolutely lush and gorgeous — perfect for reels and photos too! 📸
And then came the moment I was NOT prepared for — I tasted a coffee fruit straight off the plant! 🍒 It looked like a little red cherry but the taste was unexpectedly bitter. Such a unique and raw experience that you simply cannot get anywhere else. I also got to taste original, freshly brewed Coorg coffee — and I'll be honest, after that cup, every other coffee I've had in my life feels like a lie. ☕ If you're a coffee lover planning a Coorg trip, a plantation tour is absolutely non-negotiable.
Next up was the breathtaking Abbey Falls (also known as Abbi Falls) — a gorgeous waterfall tucked inside a lush green forest in Madikeri, Coorg. The walk to the falls through the coffee and spice plantations is an experience in itself. The sound of the water, the mist in the air, the greenery all around — it's pure magic. Perfect for nature lovers and waterfall chasers! 🌊
We wrapped up Day 1 at the beautiful Raja's Seat Garden in Madikeri — a scenic viewpoint and garden that is famous for its sunset views. The name literally translates to "Seat of the King" and it's said that the kings of Coorg used to come here to watch the sunset. The manicured gardens, the toy train, and the misty valley views make this a lovely, relaxed end to a packed day. 🌅
🗓️ DAY 2 — Dubare Elephant Camp (Second Attempt!) & Drive to Mysore
We weren't going to leave Coorg without experiencing Dubare properly! On Day 2 we went back to Dubare Elephant Camp and this time it was a much better experience. 🐘 Watching the elephants in their natural habitat by the Cauvery River, it's truly one of the most memorable wildlife experiences in South India. If you're visiting, I'd highly recommend going early in the morning to avoid the crowds — that's the real tip!
After soaking in all the Coorg goodness, we made our way to Mysore to catch our flight back — and the drive through the Western Ghats is honestly a journey in itself. 🌄
