Turning SAHARA Desert Green, But Why?
Reviving the Sahara involves more than just bringing water; it's about restoring its biodiversity. Scientists propose a unique approach: genetically modifying plants for heat and drought resistance and using drones to disperse their seeds across the desert, akin to Planting Simulator 2023. This effort falls under "geoengineering," manipulating the environment for a desired result.
Though challenging, the benefits could be immense. A lush Sahara would not only be visually stunning but also provide a habitat for diverse flora and fauna while aiding climate change mitigation by absorbing carbon dioxide. Achieving this goal will demand substantial effort, but if we can accomplish moon landings, transforming a desert into a thriving ecosystem isn't out of reach.
