Rehash a table heading on resulting pages

Applies To: Word 2016 Word 2013 Word 2010 Word 2007

When you work with a long table, it will be partitioned into a few pages. You can make changes in accordance with the table so that the table headings show up on every page.

Rehashed table headings are noticeable just in Print Layout see or when you print the record.

Select the heading column or lines that you need to rehash on every page. The choice must incorporate the primary column of the table.

Under Table Tools, on the Layout tab, in the Data gather, click Repeat Header Rows.

In the table, right-tap the line that you need to rehash, and afterward click Table Properties.

In the Table Properties exchange box, on the Row tab, select the Repeat as header line at the highest point of every page check box.

NOTES:

On the off chance that you change a table heading on the main page, the heading changes on every other page too. You can just alter the table heading on the primary page—the header pushes on ensuing pages are bolted.

In spite of the fact that Word consequently rehashes table headings on new pages that outcome from programmed page breaks, it doesn't rehash a heading on the off chance that you embed a manual page break inside a table.
When you create a table in Microsoft Word, often the first row consists of column headings. Then when the table spans multiple pages, those headings are lost to subsequent pages. Here's how you can tell Word to automatically print the first row of your table at the top of each page.

For Newer Versions of Word
(2007 or newer with Ribbon Menu)

Select the first row or rows of your table.

Table Tools | Layout | Repeat Header Rows

For Older Versions of Word
(Pre-2007 so no Ribbon Menu)

Select the first row or rows of your table.

Click Table | Heading Rows Repeat.

Behavioral Nuances

Now Word automatically repeats the table headings at the top of subsequent pages, but only subsequent pages that are the result of automatic page breaks, not if the page breaks are inserted manually.
The repeated rows are only visible in Print Layout view and Print Preview.
