→ It is a manifestation of a disease associated with: -
1. Maternal problems
2. Placental problems
3. Fetal problems
→ ↓in growth= wt. of fetus less than 10 percentile of wt. appropriate for that gestational age or less than 2 SD below the wt. which is appropriate.
→ First sign indicating that fetus is growing less- ↓Abdominal circumference on USG
→ Normal growth of fetus means: -
1.Up to 14-15 weeks =5g/day
2. Up to 20 weeks = 10g/ day
3. From 32-34 weeks = 30-35g/ day
