Watching A Reversing Valve Shift With A Magnet
This is a Mitsubishi City Multi outdoor unit reversing (or four-way) valve. The neodymium magnet on the side of the brass valve moves with the steel plunger inside. The valve is in the heating position initially, then shifts to cooling and back to heating.
