Любой крупный праздник в Санкт-Петербурге завершается ярким фейерверком. Встреча Нового года тем более не может обойтись без этого волшебного зрелища. Тысячи человек собираются на мостах и набережных в праздничную ночь, чтобы посмотреть, как рассыпаются по небу сотни разноцветных огоньков вслед за громом залпов на пляже Петропавловской крепости.

Салют на Новый год в Санкт-Петербурге обычно начинается в одно и тоже время. Первый залп гремит у Нарышкина бастиона Петропавловской крепости ровно в 03:00 1 января. К этому моменту все уже успевают поздравить близких, выпить бокал шампанского и прокричать «ура!» под звон курантов на Дворцовой площади. Но на этот раз салюта не будет из-за сложной эпидемиологической обстановки.
Традиционно салют длится около 10 минут, в небо выпускают не менее 40 залпов. Видно его не только с близкого расстояния. Но гости и жители города стремятся подобраться к новогоднему салюту поближе и занять, что называется, место в партере. Лучшие места:
Дворцовая набережная, Стрелка Васильевского острова, Верхние, ступени здания Биржи, Дворцовый мост, Троицкий мост, Адмиралтейская набережная, Английская набережная.
