Welcome back to part 37 of my Survival Horror devlog in Unreal Engine 5.6! In this episode, we are diving into Steam integration.

Wishlist on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/47...

I will show you how I implemented the Steam Achievements and Stats system. Instead of using the default asynchronous UE plugin, I wrote a custom C++ Blueprint Function Library to make all Steam API calls synchronous. By combining this with Primary Data Assets and Enums, the system is now completely typo-proof and extremely easy to call from anywhere in the game.

What else is new in this episode:

Save System Updates: Interactive containers, drawers, and lockers now properly save their looted states between game sessions.

Level Design: Tweaked the player's pathing, adding a new breach in the shower room wall to access the admission ward.

New Props: Started modeling a safe. We'll be working on its dial mechanics and integrating it into the procedural room generator (BP_RoomGenerator) next time!

Steam Page Announcement: The game's Steam store page is currently under review. Wishlists will be open very soon! Expected release date: Q4 (Autumn).
