How to Install the Shure A400MB Mute Button

Equipment Used:
1 - Plug-On Adapter
2 - Spacer
3 - Color Rings (3)
4 - Mute Button
Assembly Kit:
1 - Cable Ties (2)
2 - Strain Reliefs (2)
3 - 6-Pin Block Connector
Optional Equipment:
A400MB-MOUNT
Compatible Microphones:
MX395-LED
MX405, MX410, MX415 with MX400SMP
Install the Mute Button:
In a table between 15mm and 30mm (.59 to 1.18 inches) thick, drill a 30mm (1 1/8 inch) hole
Place the color ring around the hole
Insert the mute button and its attached 2.5mm cable through the hole
Insert your microphone
Slide the spacer onto the mute button so the rubber side is flush against the bottom of the table
Pull the attached 2.5mm cable through the side opening on the spacer
Slide the wingnut, included with your microphone, under the spacer
Tighten by hand
Do not overtighten
Connect Without the A400MB-MOUNT:
Connect the plug-on adapter to the 5-pin XLR microphone
Plug the attached 2.5mm cable into the adapter
Use the assembly kit to wire a cable to the 6-pin block connector
Connect Using the A400MB-MOUNT:
Slide the clamp over the plug-on adapter
Place the adapter within 2 inches of the mute button assembly
TIP: Test the cable extension distance between the microphone and plug-on adapter before screwing the adapter clamp to the mounting surface
Screw the clamp into place
Connect the 5-pin XLR cable to the mic and the plug-on adapter
Plug the attached 2.5mm cable into the adapter
Use the assembly kit to wire a cable to the 6-pin block connector
