PCGForge Terrain Generation Series – Part 5

In this tutorial, we'll use the Heightmap Edge Fade Node to create natural terrain boundaries and eliminate the artificial box-shaped appearance common in procedural terrains.

After completing our erosion pipeline, we'll soften the terrain borders, create broad foothill-like transitions, and transform the landscape into a more believable landmass.

Topics covered:

• Heightmap Edge Fade Node setup
• Fade Width
• Target Height
• Creating natural terrain boundaries
• Eliminating hard terrain edges
• Broad foothill-like transitions
• Terrain silhouette improvement
• Landscape composition
• Final terrain refinement

This is Part 5 of the PCGForge Terrain Generation Series.
