World's Biggest Intersection | Huangjuewan Junction | The most complicated overpass in China
The #Huangjuewaninterchange is a 5 level interchange in #Chongqing, #China. The interchange has 15 ramps with a total length of 16,414 m (53,852 ft), leading to 8 directions. Construction started in September 2009 and was completed in 2017.
Construction of the investment, which was put into operation at the end of May 2017, started in 2009. Although the routes within the overpass cross in as many as eight directions, moving around it is a child’s play. The city authorities ensured that the signs are very visible, and in the event of a mistake you can turn back within 1 km.
Interestingly, satellite navigation works flawlessly within the facility.
#HuangjueBayInterchange, also known as #PanlongInterchange, connects #GuangyangIsland, #ChongqingJiangbeiAirport, #SouthBank, #DafosiBridge, #ChaotianmenBridge, marble, four kilometers, and tea gardens in 8 directions. There are up to five floors and a total of 20 ramps (previously there were only 15 ramps, now there are 20 ramps).
On March 10, 2016, the asphalt paving of the Huangjuewan Interchange Ramp in Chongqing was completed and entered the final stage. As the largest and most complex interchange in the main city, Huangjuewan Interchange is an important node connecting #ChaotianmenBridge, #CimushanTunnel, Inner Ring Expressway, and airport-specific expressway
This interchange is very complex. It is a five-storey large interchange. It measures 37 meters from the ground to the highest point, which is equivalent to a 12-storey building. It covers an area of 616 acres, with two main lines and 15 ramps, namely A and B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O ramps will be constructed in two phases. The first phase includes two main lines and ramps A, B, D, F, G, L, M, N, and O, with a total length of 3,881 meters; part of the ramps C, E, H, I, J, K connected to the airport’s dedicated expressway , It will be built in the second phase.
