Giripremi Adventure Foundation's Mt Yunam Peak Expedition
A 6111 m high mountain standing next on to Manali - Leh Highway is another interesting bucketlist adventure of the budding mountaineer. A non technical peak, yet a true test of high altitude endurance, mental toughness, and resilience to beat the chilling cold, Mt. Yunam has a spectrum of action packed adventures to offer. 15 members of GAf, led by Dr. Sumit Mandale and Akhil Katkar attempted the peak in Aug 2022. The groupwas in a way lucky that they had a company of legendary mountaineer Ushaprabha Page, the Director of GAF, who even at the age of 80, never stopped climbing. On the occasion of India’s 75th Independence day, 6 members of the team Sachin Gadgil, Tanvi Gadgil, Sarika Limbore, Mandar Thorat, Shailesh Sirsikar, Akshay Bhapkar, along with the leaders made it to the top of Mt. Yunam.
