Struggling with too many blue photos on a layout? In this real-time scrapbook process video, I show how I choose papers, flip a photo, and make a tricky double spread WORK – using my usual A4 format.
This video is the full, slowed-down version of my “Too Many Blue Photos!” Solution Sunday Short – here I show you exactly how I choose papers for an all-blue photo layout in A4.
The big temptation when your photos all have the same colours is to grab patterned papers that “match” perfectly. They look beautiful in the pack, they match your photos – so it feels like the right choice. But that’s exactly when your pictures start to drown in the page, and you end up with even less distinction between them.
In this A4 scrapbook layout, I’ll show you:
Why matching your papers too closely to your photos can make everything blend into one flat “sea of blue”
How to choose papers and colours that create contrast so your photos stand out instead of sinking into the background
Simple design decisions that help similar-looking photos each have their own moment on the page
An easy A4 layout approach you can reuse whenever your photos all feel a bit samey
This is perfect if:
You scrapbook in A4 (or are curious about it)
You have holiday, beach, pool, park or “all in the same place” photos that look almost identical
You find yourself always reaching for 'perfect' papers and then wondering why your photos disappear
I hope this gives you some new ideas for working with tricky, “all the same” photos – especially when you’re drowning in blue like I was!
