Change Windows 7 lock screen background with Group Policy Editor
For some reason, Microsoft hasn't provided an option to change the Windows 7 lock screen background (which also appears when installing updates and on the "Welcome" screen). Microsoft has only provided an option to OEMs with the use of Group Policy or Registry Editor. That doesn't mean that we, as end-users, can't do what OEMs have been doing for years. Many tutorials suggest the Registry Editor but for Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate edition, it is easier and safer to use the Group Policy Editor. I like it over Regedit wherever possible.
