This is my real interview for a senior Java developer position. We started by discussing my experience, team structure, and processes, and then delved into the technical details: Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes.
There was a lot of talk about asynchronous programming—REST vs. Kafka, the Outbox Pattern, Kafka transactions, and duplicate handling. I answered questions about the Stream API, CompletableFuture, parallel streams, ForkJoinPool, ThreadPool, and the Java Memory Model, and then also solved practical problems with the database and SQL.
