Welcome back for the ultimate speed test! In this video, we put four popular emulation frontends—Hyperspin 2.0, Hyperspin Attraction Mode, RetroBat, and Big Box—head-to-head to compare their load times and menu fluidity. Everything is installed on the same D drive to see which one delivers the snappiest, most responsive retro gaming experience.

⏱️ Video Timestamps & Summary
[00:00] Introduction & Setup Context:

The video introduces the four frontends being tested: Hyperspin 2.0, Hyperspin Attraction Mode (1.5), RetroBat, and Big Box.

All are installed on the same D drive, but Hyperspin 2.0 has fewer systems/games as it is still in beta, which should be factored into its speed results.

[00:41] Hyperspin 2.0 Speed Test (Beta):

The test begins with Hyperspin 2.0.

It boots extremely fast, loading directly into the menu with "verifying wheel media."

Initial impression: Very fast load time, with excellent menu fluidity and quick loading of the art media.

[01:17] Hyperspin Attraction Mode (1.5) Speed Test:

Next is Hyperspin Attraction Mode (which has a full system/game collection).

It has a slightly slower initial boot compared to the 2.0 beta.

Once loaded, the menu is described as "insanely fast to flick through" [01:43] with perfect responsiveness once stopped on a system. Overall, the look and feel are highly praised.

[02:08] RetroBat Speed Test:

The test moves to RetroBat (running the Artflixick theme).

It takes a noticeably longer time to boot and get going compared to both Hyperspin versions.

After loading, the menu fluidity is disappointing, showing clear "stutter and lag" [02:43] when scrolling through the systems.

[03:16] Big Box Speed Test:

Finally, the video tests Big Box.

This frontend is noted as being the longest one to load and requires a significant wait time [03:37].

Menu navigation is a bit "stuttery" [04:17] and is considered nowhere near as snappy or fluid as Hyperspin.

[04:42] Conclusion & Question to the Audience:

The video concludes by asking the audience to compare the performance of RetroBat and Launchbox/Big Box and share their thoughts on which was more flui
