Pantech Burst (ICS): How to setup a Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot
Depending on your carrier and version of android, portable wi-fi hotspot may or may not be enabled. I'd read online that this feature had been removed on newer android versions. It all depends on your carrier.
For the Pantech Burst, Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot is available (as well as USB and bluetooth Tethering... YAY!)
To setup:
1) Go to Settings
2) Tap on "More" under Wireless and Networks
3) Tap on Tethering & portable hotspot
4) Tap on Wi-fi Hotspot Settings
4.1) Tap on Configure Wi-Fi Hotpot.
4.2) Enter all of your information for what you want for your hotspot (ie SSID, Encryption, etc.)
4.3) Click on Back, you can enable portable wi-fi hotspot from the Portable Wi-fi hotspot settings screen.
** if you did it correctly, you'll see an icon at the top (green) saying the hotspot is available for use.
NOTE: Please enable Data Service before doing all of this. Easiest way is to slide from the top and enable data.
This feature is really nice. It's like having your own little mini router.
