🦑🦑 Hi Crackens!! Let's learn how to create futuristic symmetries with Affinity Designer!
CLARIFICATION: Command is the Cmd key in Mac OS X, which is equivalent to the Ctrl or Control key in Windows. That is, for those of you with Windows, when you hear me say Command + J, in Windows it will be Control + J 👍🏼
I'd like to point out that what we're going to do with Affinity can also be done with Illustrator. The problem is that with Illustrator we can't see the changes to the original symbol in real time, but in Affinity we can.
Affinity is a vector design software that's becoming quite popular. It's true that it still lacks features that Illustrator has, and vice versa... there are some Affinity features that Illustrator would need.
The most important thing about this design tutorial is that you understand why I use symbols and how I built the grid that I used to create these geometries. If you understand these two things, you'll be able to create symmetries with any graphic design software.
