Android's history started from Android 1.1 , but android became popular from it's third update Android 1.5 (Cupcake)

Cupcake V 1.5 (API 3)
Donut V 1.6 (API 4)
Eclair V 2.0 to 2.1 (API 5 to 7)
Froyo V 2.2 to 2.2.3 (API 8)
Ginger Bread V 2.3 to 2.3.7 (API 9 & 10)
Honey Comb V 3.0 to 3.2 (API 11 to 13)
Ice Cream Sandwich V 4.0 to 4.0.4 (API 14 &15)
