Does lower lid filler need to be dissolved before lower lid blepharoplasty?
It is my opinion that lower lid filler should be dissolved before lower lid blpeharoplasty.
Under eye filler, such as Restylane, is often used to conceal eye bags. However, these fillers need to be dissolved before lower lid surgery because they:
1) Distort the eyelid anatomy
2) Soak up fluid (such as postop swelling)
3) Block the lymphatic vessels, which drain postop swelling
