At the time of filming, the Eternal Flame in Dubrovina Park was still burning, and the memorial was open to the public.

This episode of "Backyards of Europe" captures Daugavpils in 2024. We'll walk through Dubrovina Park, which is inextricably linked to the city's history. I show the memorial to the liberating soldiers in its original form, talk about the history of the 1944 burials, and discuss the maintenance of the flame that was relevant at the time.

The situation has now changed: the flame has been extinguished, and access to part of the memorial is restricted. This video preserves the memory of what this place looked like not long ago.
