Sunny by Bobbie Hebb, is one of the most played songs in diffenrent genres. It is a jazz standard and a funk-
disco song alike. It is performed at every session worldwide. Being able to play a decent solo over it is a must!
For this guitar chord solo Sunny tutorial, I took my coolest chord lines and packed them into this song.
You'll learn tons of great jazz guitar chords for sunny, as well as how to connect them properly and get a good flow in your solo.
I decided to go with a jazz funk groove, since this is the most used rhythm for this song and can also be performed by non-jazzers.
I have created a Sunny funky jazz backing track and you if you download you get both versions, the slow and the regular speed one. So playing along to Sunny was never easier.
I consider this guitar lesson intermediat to advanced level. There are some easy parts in there, but also some challenging fast chord changes along the way. You can, of course, always strip those advanced jazz chords down or just skip some of those harder jazz chords.
There are some single note lines in there, since its a solo, but I focussed on jazz chords. You can use these solo ideas for many other jazz funk songs.I'll teach you about that syncopated rhythm, which is perfect for the
