We buy DNA cube to get 12-18 DNA fragments. To answer the question "Is it worth to buy DNA cube?" we need to compare the cost of 1 DNA obtained from a cube to a cost of 1 DNA obtained by playing missions.
For high quality DNA mission you need 12 Intel to play and you will get 3 DNA fragments. Intel is a scarce resource. You can buy Intel from daily offers with the cost of 3 Helix credits per 1 Intel. This will make a cost of 1 DNA fragment to be 12 Helix credits.
1 regular DNA cube contains 12+ DNA fragments. Let's say with a good luck you may get 15 DNA fragments from 1 cube. Cost of the cube is 200 Helix, that make 1 DNA from the cube cost 13.3 Helix and up to 16.6 Helix for 12 DNA fragments per cube. Using the "average luck" estimation, I would count:
Play a mission: 1 DNA = 12 Helix
DNA cube: 1 DNA = 14 Helix
Event DNA cube: 1 DNA = 21 Helix
Shop Daily section 1 DNA = 180 / 3 = 60 Helix
