GemShow setup (Lebanon, PA) Aug. '24 (
A bit of a breakthrough in setup at this weekend's Gem Miner's Jubilee (in Lebanon, PA). While I've followed this somewhat in the past - it was eye opening to get more conscious of it - basically that I create a "pseudo-gender-based" spectrum in my display, which leads from funkier more fossil, skull and specimen orientation (with "men" in mind) towards prettier things: polished animals, jewelry, etc. (which are oriented more towards women). Last time, I just threw everything onto the tables, and THEN reorganized them. This time, I was able to streamline my process by placing flats and trays more directly into their "sides" of the display (which works really well visually, too).
