One of the key witnesses in the fraud case against a deputy from Shakhty, Rostov Oblast, admitted to incriminating Konstantin Cherednichenko (deputy) under pressure from a law enforcement official.
The deputy's assistant, Evgeny Kucherenko, confessed and testified to investigators that the main purpose of incriminating and initiating a criminal case against the elected official, Konstantin Cherednichenko, was to seize his business and receive a "payoff" for closing the criminal case against him.
As the deputy's lawyer emphasizes, the paradox of this criminal prosecution is that he didn't even find a statement from the victim in the case file. And the deputy had nothing to do with the fraud with which Cherednichenko is accused. He didn't even take any money. His assistant, Evgeny, handled everything, and he confirms this in new testimony. In light of newly discovered circumstances, Konstantin Cherednichenko's wife, the mother of four, has appealed to Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee, asking him to take personal control of the case.
She is convinced that her husband was framed for the purpose of seizing his business and receiving ransom for the closure of a fabricated criminal case.
