Some odds and ends and leftover observations of the recent tests.
0:00 - the other option from overlapping the Photo Mode and the quest message is to close Photo Mode and regain movement while the message is on the screen. It's a glitch too, although I haven't noticed as many interesting side effects from it.
0:36 - closing the message makes HUD suddenly visible during an in-game cutscene, but it doesn't restore control to Max.
0:58 - having a new message pop up during an in-game cutscene (using flare) can screw up the camera a bit. I guess it wouldn't hurt to test this effect some more at some point.
1:24 - like with Photo Mode glitch, getting killed closes the message and ends the glitch.
1:34 - while testing this glitch out, I found this natural OoB where you can take the camera through during Photo Mode and see the game world from outside while everything is all flickery.
2:28 - talking to a scrap finder with free camera control. (Kind of redundant, I guess...)
3:13 - a more important story cutscene like meeting with new characters wrests away the free camera from the player, much like the cinematic actions of shooting a flare or picking up water.
Afterwards, Max is stuck since the game wants to open the racing menu, but is unable to due to Photo-mode. You must end Photo Mode to continue playing.
3:47 - some more fighting with free camera control.
