Create DROP SHADOWS in Adobe Photoshop

STEPS
1) select the layer to which you want to apply a drop shadow.
2) in the layer menu scroll down to "layer style" then click "drop shadow".
3) in the drop shadow options panel make sure the preview box is checked, then adjust the various settings until you achieve the desired appearance.
4) if you wish to save the shadow effect you've created for later use you can hit "make default".
5) click "ok"
