The histogram is used to represent continuous quantitative variables, therefore distributed across intervals or classes.
The common mistake when representing the histogram is to represent absolute frequencies on the vertical axis. In reality, the histogram should represent frequency densities, and it's important to remember this.
Frequency density is represented by the height of the rectangle within the histogram, while absolute frequency is represented by the area of the rectangle.
Relative frequency can also be represented as the rectangle. In this case, the histogram's representation method, and therefore the exercise, will remain the same.
