Micro Hydro Project on Canals | Free Energy
This is an ultra low-head 10kW micro hydro project located on a Canal in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan currently being operated by the community on a community-owned model, assisted by PEDO. The project has a Kaplan turbine coupled with an alternator. The belt allows an increase of the RFP for the alternator otherwise the generator won't produce any electricity.
Community-nominated personnel operate and perform the maintenance of this project based on the revenue collected from each beneficiary home.
Locals are very happy with this energy being produced close to their homes and want more such projects from the government.
