SPLIT GRADE PRINTING - DARKROOM PRINT
Split Grade Printing. This video shows a scene I prepared and photographed purposely to show how I make a split grade print using Ilford Contrast Filters.
I wanted to keep the Diary on the table from blowing out whilst keeping tonality in the rest of the photograph. I achieved this by using two contrast filters, number 0 and number 5.
Split Grade printing is done in various ways and this is how I make mine. I made a video a while back using Contrast Filters for another print. A link is below.
