SCP-1513 is a plastic bag, currently containing 11 seeds. Analysis of the seeds has revealed that they are dormant and belong to the species Helianthus annuus (annual sunflower). SCP-1513 bears the inscription "GROW YOUR OWN PET."
When seeds from SCP-1513 are placed in soil, they enter a state of active growth. Seeds germinate regardless of watering or sunlight. These factors, however, affect the subsequent growth of the plants. With proper care, the plants grow into the shape of a pet, such as a cat or dog. The plant's development continues for 1 to 4 weeks, after which it gains the ability to move. These instances are designated SCP-1513-1.

SCP-1513-1 instances exhibit behavior consistent with the animals they resemble and are exceptionally friendly toward humans. They are incapable of moving from the location in which they were formed, but will attempt to interact with any living creature nearby. SCP-1513-1 do not respond to the removal of portions of their mass; regrowth of removed portions takes several weeks. If all above-ground parts of SCP-1513-1 are completely removed, they will regrow into a new form. They appear to retain no memory of faces or objects.
