Inserting YouTube videos in PowerPoint 2013 is TOO easy…and there is a catch!
It's great that there is now a YouTube search dialog box directly within PowerPoint (you never have to leave the program), but it lacks all of the video formatting options that you've come to love.
So although it is great, if you want to control how your YouTube video appears in PowerPoint AND/OR include the playlist that your video is a part of, you need to use the old embed code method in PowerPoint 2013.
To get the playlist, you also need to make sure you open the video through the playlist itself. Navigate to the YouTube channel, find the playlist, open the video THROUGH the playlist and then continue following along with the instructions in the video.
This not only gives you the most flexibility in formatting your YouTube video, but it also gives you the playlist option, which is not available using any of the other YouTube methods.
