This rare classic car legend rolled up to the meet
The Plymouth Road Runner, introduced in 1968, quickly became an icon of American muscle cars. Designed to offer raw power and performance at an affordable price, it featured a stripped-down interior and high-performance engines, including the legendary 426 Hemi. The car was named after the Looney Tunes character Road Runner, with Plymouth even paying Warner Bros. $50,000 for the rights. True to its namesake, the car’s horn mimicked the distinctive “beep-beep” sound. The Road Runner combined speed and style, making it a favorite among enthusiasts and a symbol of the golden age of muscle cars.
