According to the investigation, the victim, being a trusted person of his acquaintance, was selling her expensive Mercedes car. On November 18, a potential buyer, a previously convicted 21-year-old Muscovite, came to view the car. At some point, a conflict occurred between the men, during which the unemployed "buyer" stabbed the victim at least 15 times. After the murder, the man fled.
