NERESHEIM ABBEY - WITH ORGANIST PAUL FEY
In January 2024, I visited Neresheim Abbey with Paul Fey, in particular the abbey church, built by the famous baroque architect Balthasar Neumann.
There, as part of the architecture, is the Holzhay organ, with 3000 pipes and an echo of 7 seconds.

The main organ was built between 1794 and 1797 by Johann Nepomuk Holzhey from Ottobeuren. Its façade was designed by Thomas Schaithauf, the abbey's building director. It was inspired by that of the main organ in Weingarten Basilica by Josef Gabler, as well as Holzhey's somewhat earlier organs in Rot an der Rot and Weißenau. After several modifications, the organ was largely restored to its original state by the Swiss organ builders Kuhn in 1979.
