Wanted to see if it was possible to use a surround multichannel effects plugin when you don't have a surround multichannel format bus to place it on in plain old stereo Bitwig. Unfortuantely each multichannel plugin handles how they expose their outputs differently and VST3 won't expose at all in Bitwig. some seem to match the output multichannel format to that of the hosting bus dynamically, so in Bitwig, means they generaly want to operate in stereo only. Cinematic Rooms shown here supports upto 7.1.6 reverb output, but it would be cool if for Mach1 we could pull the eight corners from a 5.1.4 reverb and feed them into the psuedo 8-channel bus. Blue Cat Audio Patchwork however seems to only allow 6 channel bus emulation when hosting a VST, so 5.1 format reverb was the maximum possible : (
Hopefully Blue Cat Audio Patchwork can be persuaded to increase this limit to 12. For now this videso simply shows the revern being duplicated for the 8 highs and lows. Center channel is ignored, but could easily be included in FX Grid with a mix device feeding wherever.
[Demo of LiquidSonics Cinematic Rooms, reverb cuts out intermittently.]
