How to Change the Head of Woody Signature Collection
In this video, I intend to share my experience replacing Woody's Signature Collection head with the Woody Soft head, which features a more accurate facial expression from the movie. Detailed steps are below:
1 - Removing the Woody Signature Collection head
Remove the batteries before beginning the process. Using a screwdriver, gently pry the head in a circular motion around the base until it comes completely off.
2 - Removing the Woody Soft head
Using the tip of a pair of scissors, break the seams that hold the head to the torso.
3 - Removing the Woody Soft head base
Using a thin saw, cut the base very close to the neck, without compromising the integrity of the circle below the neck.
4 - Removing the rotating core from the Woody Signature Collection head
Using the tip of a knife, go around the entire edge of the core, carefully loosening the glue. If necessary, complete the process with a screwdriver. It's very important not to force the removal to avoid damaging the shaft.
5 - Fitting the Rotation Core to the Woody Soft Head
Insert the entire core shaft diagonally/inclinedly into the neck using a screwdriver to facilitate opening the circle at the base of the neck. Only the rotation pin should be sticking out of the neck. The shaft must be fixed to the inside of the neck with medium-viscosity permanent glue for better distribution.
6 - Fitting the Woody Soft Head to the Woody Signature Collection Body
Remove the scarf/bandana to facilitate fitting the head and avoid contact with the glue. After waiting about 5 minutes for the glue to dry, simply fit the head and check that the rotation movement has not been compromised. Replace the batteries and test the electronics. If everything is fine, retie the scarf according to your preference.
