TASS held a press conference dedicated to the capital's transport complex projects in 2023.
The main parameters of the fifth "Yaroslavsko-Paveletsky" Moscow Central Diameter (MCD-5) project will be presented by the end of 2023. This was announced at a press conference at TASS by Acting Deputy Mayor Maxim Liksutov.
"The project is in the design research stage. ... We will announce the basic parameters of the project by the end of the year," Liksutov said.
The first Moscow Central Diameters (MCDs) opened in November 2019, from Odintsovo to Lobnya and from Nakhabino to Podolsk. Most MCD stations offer transfers to the metro, the Moscow Central Circle (MCC), and the Moscow Railway's radial routes. A total of five diameters are planned. The third diameter, from Zelenograd to Ramenskoye, opened on August 17, 2023. Of the five planned diameters, MCD-4 (from Aprelevka to Zheleznodorozhny) and MCD-5 (from Pushkin to Domodedovo) remain to be launched.
The Moscow Central Diameters (MCDs) will be extended beyond the Moscow Region. They will reach neighboring regions, including the Yaroslavl, Tula, Oryol, Kaluga, and Ryazan regions, announced Moscow Deputy Mayor for Transport Maxim Liksutov.
