Warcraft III is a real-time strategy game with RPG elements. Developed by Blizzard Entertainment with support from Vivendi Universal and released in July 2002.
Unlike previous games in the series, the number of opposing sides has increased from two to four: you can play as the already known Alliance and Horde, as well as two new races - Undead and Night Elves. However, the overall gameplay has not changed - the player still needs to extract resources, build bases and hire troops in order to destroy the enemy. Heroes have become an innovation - unique warriors with special abilities and able to gain experience when killing enemy warriors.
