You can also do ab exercises while standing! And that's what we're going to do: 15 minutes of standing ab exercises.
This time, no mat. No mopping the floor while lying on your back to make your abs burn. No constantly pulling your hair out because it gets caught between your back and the mat. None of that! This time, we're doing it differently... Standing ab exercises. A fifteen-minute ab workout, but with both feet on the ground (except when we lift our feet, of course). Let's go!
Standing ab exercises are a unique way to train your abs. The big difference is that we don't use gravity to push ourselves up with our abs and then let ourselves fall back down by relaxing our abs.
This time, it's even harder. Because we're standing, we have to start by contracting our abs. Then, we'll put them to work with standing ab exercises. It might sometimes feel like nothing is happening, but that's certainly not the case.
In this home workout, we'll mainly focus on core rotations. We'll do crunches (abdominal exercises where you squeeze your muscles) on the sides of our abdomen and rotate our fronts. This way, we'll engage every abdominal muscle. Don't take too many breaks. We'll work every minute without rest, and because we're standing, the workout "feels" less intense. So give it your all in these 15 minutes with creative ab exercises.

Hi! I'm Joye.
So glad we're going to train together!
I've been teaching various fitness classes as an instructor for over 15 years. In recent years, I've also earned my Personal Training license and Crossfit Level 1. Now that many of us are spending a lot of time at home, I'm very excited to start working out online with you!
You can follow various workout videos for free via 'The Joy workout'. There are several HIIT workouts, where we'll really get our heart rate up to burn as many calories as possible. There are also Strength workouts that focus on your legs and glutes, for example. This way, we'll work specific muscle groups. Whichever class you take, I'll guide you through various exercises and explain everything, so we'll all reach the finish line laughing together.
You can work out online at home with me.
Bye!
P.S. Don't miss a workout and subscribe for free!

Because we'll be working extensively with rotations, we'll be engaging a lot of our transverse and oblique abdominal muscles:
There's a big difference between our transverse abdominal muscles and the obliques:
Transverse abdominal muscles
The transverse abdominal muscles (transversus abdominis) are the abdominal muscles that lie deepest in your body. The transverse abdominal muscles serve as a connection between the left and right sides of the body and receive help from, among other things, the back muscles.
Obliques
The obliques (obliquus abdominis) are located on either side of the rectus abdominis. The obliques can be divided into two groups: the internal obliques and the more superficial external obliques. These also form the diagonal lines on your abdomen, often seen in bodybuilders.
