Windows 10 did a forced update and reduced my ETH mining hashrate considerably. I had to re-install the mining GPU drivers in order to get my rig back up and running properly again.

I am using an Ethereum mining rig to heat our bedroom while earning me some extra money on the side. This is a 5 card rig with only four cards currently running due to one of the riser cards going bad.

With the four cards running I was getting about 100 MH on ETH.

I got a notification of a missing miner in my email the other day letting me know that my rig was offline. This generally means a windows update.

Sure enough, the computer was sitting there for hours waiting for my input after Microsoft forced an update. Instead of rebooting it sat there waiting for me to click the mouse to complete an update I did not want in the first place.

Once Windows allowed me to use my computer again, the mining hashrate was down to 30 MH. This is only 1/3 of its normal power.

I had to re-install the AMD mining drivers in order to get my rig going again.
