LACATARIUS QUEITICOLOR
Cap up to 6 cm in diameter, convex to slightly depressed in the center. Slightly zoned cuticle, with shades ranging from salmon to pale pink. Adherent gills, with lamellulae, orange in color, with greenish spots. Short, hollow stipe, concolorous with the cap. Firm, dense flesh, orange with greenish reflections. Orange latex that turns green when dry. Slightly acrid taste.
Confusions
LACATARIUS DELICIOSUS (saffron milk cap mushroom) does not have such ochre tones, its orange latex does not turn green when drying, and it does not have a pungent taste.
Habitat: Mountain pine forests.
Season: Autumn.
Good quality flesh and excellent flavor.
