Creating a 1-bar drum loop using Pattern Regions in Logic Pro - [Logic Pro Live Looping Tutorial]
When using Logic Pro's LiveLoops mode, setting the "At Rec-End" parameter to "Record" is one way of laying down a drum. While this methodology comes closest to the workflow that you'd (have to) use in a hardware looper, some prefer the graphical mode of a sequencer. Logic Pro's Pattern regions fit that bill, but can unfortunately not be used in the Live Loops Grid.
What you CAN do, is to create the pattern in Tracks View and when you're happy with it, drag it over to the Live Loops Grid. This video shows how.
